Dr. Sophien Kamoun is a senior plant scientist at the Sainsbury Laboratory and professor of biology at the University of East Anglia, working to improve our understanding of plant diseases and plant immunity. He was elected a member of MAE in 2011, of EMBO in 2015, and made Fellow of the Royal Society in 2018. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to plant science, Kamoun received the Linnean Medal in 2018.
