Dr. Dani Zamir's research focuses on the use of natural biodiversity to improve crops. He led the International SOL Genome Project in 2003, bringing together scientists from more than 20 countries to sequence the entire genome of tomato, potato, pepper, coffee and others. In 2007 Zamir received the Kaye Innovation Prize in 2007 and in 2015, he was awarded the Emet Prize for his groundbreaking research of the genetic control of quantitative traits and the application of his studies to plant breeding.
